Passion Project Lesson Reflection

Lesson 1 on water safety

For me learning about water safety was really fun. I learnt heaps to do with this topic.
+Plus+

For me a plus was at the start of my lesson I introduced my lesson and what it was. I believe the video I showed was an easy video to understand and a good video for our age level.

-Minus-

For me was I let the class get a bit out of control when they went off for 5 minutes to make a short play to show the class. I think five minutes to do a short water safety playis too long. I think next time 2 or 3 minutes is better and the class won’t go as crazy.

One interesting fact I learnt about water safety was in 2013 and 2014, 266 people died in Australia and 81% of them were men. I didn’t think that everyone would be so engaged in doing plays on trying to stay safe in or around water.
Remember Play it Safe- by the Water. The life guards are there to watch and help, not to babysit you it’s your responsibly to swim with someone.

    Dear Ainslie,
I really enjoyed your lesson, although you might be right about letting the class get out of hand during the role playing.
I think that during the lesson you stayed on topic for the whole time and really got your point across that it is really important to know water safety and to be water safe.

    To Ainslie,
I like that you have got your lesson all planed out and that it’s easy to read and I like that you put in facts about water safety.

    Dear Ainslie,
I really enjoyed your lesson. I think the role-play added Fun into it instead of just straight learning.

    Dear Ainslie,
I really enjoued your lesson because you had it planned and I think you are right about 2 or 3 minutes being long enough so the class doesn’t get crazy, I think it was also because of the day we did your lesson since it was dress up day they might have been getting a little annoyed about their costume heating them up in the heat.
